Tire Safety and Condition

Regularly check your tire pressure and tread depth. Correct pressure ensures optimal grip and fuel savings. Overinflated tires contact only the center, underinflated tires wear on the sides and can overheat.

The minimum tread depth is 1.6 mm for regular tires and 4 mm for winter tires below 7°C.

Safe Cargo Transport

The total weight of car plus cargo must not exceed 3500 kg. Cargo must be secured and not loose inside the car. Overhanging cargo may extend max 20 cm on the sides and 1 meter front and rear. Max height including cargo is 4 meters.

Trailers and Bike Racks

With a category B license, you may tow a trailer up to a total of 3500 kg combined with the car. Trailers up to 750 kg have a white license plate, heavier ones a yellow plate. Cargo may only overhang at the rear and must be marked if over 1 meter.

Bikes can be safely transported on a rear or roof-mounted bike rack, following the same overhang rules as roof cargo.
