How do you rank schools?
The default order uses the lower bound of the 95% Wilson interval for first exams. This accounts for both pass rate and sample size. A high rate from very few exams carries less weight. The displayed percentage is always the actual CBR result, not the adjusted sorting score.
Which exams are included?
Car: B and B-H. Motorcycle: A, A1, A2, A-G and A2-G road-riding exams combined. Scooter: AM2, excluding microcars. Standard practical exams only. Vehicle-control tests, interim tests, adapted exams and further investigations are excluded. Retakes are separate and do not determine the ranking.
How complete and current is this?
6,827 / 7,043 schools are matched to a town. Schools without a reliable town match are excluded from local results. Known closed schools are not listed. The results cover one year; CBR publishes new files quarterly. This is not a live view of lesson availability.
Is the top school the best for me?
A pass rate cannot tell you that. Student selection and when a school books exams affect the figures. Ask about your instructor, lesson schedule, total costs and cancellation terms. Take a trial lesson before buying a package.
