  1. 1

You are on the motorway with adaptive cruise control (ACC) switched on. You are approaching a slower vehicle ahead. What is the system supposed to do?

Juiste antwoord: The car brakes automatically to keep a safe following distance, based on radar sensors

Uitleg: ACC actively adjusts speed but never overtakes by itself. Note: do not rely blindly on ACC for your braking, because that is exactly the negative behavioural adaptation the CBR looks for.

  2. 2

You approach a stationary traffic jam with ACC switched on. What does the Rijprocedure B expect you to account for?

Juiste antwoord: The system sometimes recognises stationary traffic late or not at all

Uitleg: Stationary objects are a known limit of the system. As the driver you must always be ready to take over the braking.

  3. 3

Your car has blind spot detection (BSD). How are you supposed to act when changing lanes?

Juiste antwoord: You still have to check your mirror and do the shoulder check

Uitleg: BSD can miss small road users such as fast-moving motorcyclists or cyclists. Your own observation remains the standard for safe behaviour.

  4. 4

What is automatic emergency braking (AEB) for in traffic?

Juiste antwoord: It acts purely as a last resort in an imminent collision when the driver does not react

Uitleg: AEB is an emergency system. Braking later because AEB is fitted is negative behavioural adaptation, and it will fail you on the exam.

  5. 5

How does intelligent speed assistance (ISA) determine the applicable speed limit?

Juiste antwoord: From a combination of camera images of road signs and navigation data

Uitleg: ISA reads the physical signs at the roadside and uses GPS data as a supporting source.

  6. 6

What is the main benefit of the anti-lock braking system (ABS) during an emergency stop?

Juiste antwoord: The wheels do not lock, so the car stays steerable and you can avoid obstacles

Uitleg: ABS guarantees you can keep steering while braking hard. On a slippery surface the braking distance can actually get longer.

  7. 7

Your car threatens to break away in a bend. Which system intervenes by braking individual wheels?

Juiste antwoord: ESP (electronic stability programme)

Uitleg: ESP corrects the car's course when stability is about to be lost, provided the physical limits of grip are not exceeded.

  8. 8

When does lane keeping assist (LKA) make an active steering correction?

Juiste antwoord: When it detects you are about to cross the lane marking without indicating

Uitleg: LKA helps you stay between the lines. If you change lanes deliberately with your indicator on, the system does not intervene.

  9. 9

The parking sensors give an uninterrupted tone. What does that mean according to the Rijprocedure B?

Juiste antwoord: You must stop immediately, because an obstacle is very close

Uitleg: A continuous tone is an urgent stop warning, often at less than 30 centimetres. Keep scanning your surroundings yourself as well.

  10. 10

What effect do mud or snow have on the parking sensors in the bumper?

Juiste antwoord: The system can fail or give false readings, either beeping constantly or seeing nothing

Uitleg: For reliable operation every sensor and camera has to be clean and free of ice. That is explicitly the driver's job.
