Sign G11 marks a compulsory cycle path. Cyclists and light mopeds must use it and may not ride on the carriageway. Mopeds do not belong on it unless a supplementary panel allows them.
Who must use this cycle path
Cyclists and light mopeds must follow the path for as long as it runs. In a car you may not drive on it or park on it.
Mopeds ride on the carriageway, unless a panel admits them.
How to recognise the sign
G11 is round and blue with a white bicycle. Round and blue means a mandatory instruction in the RVV.
G13 looks similar but is rectangular. That is an optional cycle path, where cyclists may choose.
What it means for you as a driver
Where a compulsory cycle path runs, you should not expect cyclists on the carriageway. You still need to watch junctions and driveways, because that is where the path meets the road.
When you turn off you cross the cycle path. Cyclists going straight keep priority.

The question is usually about who belongs on the path. Remember the order: bicycles and light mopeds must, mopeds may not, unless a panel says otherwise.
Difference from G13, optional cycle path
G11 is round and blue and obliges cyclists to use the path. G13 is rectangular and lets cyclists choose between the path and the carriageway.
