Waiting to turn left? Keep your wheels straight, or a crash from behind pushes you into oncoming traffic. Explained for the CBR theory exam.

You're waiting to turn left. Your wheels are already turned left, so you can go straight away. But on the CBR exam, that's exactly the wrong answer. Because what happens if someone drives into the back of you? Your car goes wherever your front wheels are pointing.
Wheels straight? Then you get pushed straight ahead, in your own lane. Wheels turned left? Then you get pushed onto the other side of the road. Right into oncoming traffic. The CBR literally asks: what is the safest position for your front wheels while you wait? Straight ahead.
So while you wait: wheels straight, and your foot on the brake. Only steer once you start moving. Not before. Send this to someone who's about to take their theory exam.
