Disabled parking space

E6 identifies a disabled parking place reserved for the situations specified in RVV Article 26. For an ordinary car, this includes a clearly displayed valid disabled parking permit and a direct connection with the transport for which the permit was issued.

What to do at this sign

Check whether a registration number reserves the place for a particular vehicle. A general disabled permit does not make a personally reserved place available to every permit holder. Also check any maximum stay; Article 26 can make parking-disc rules applicable.

Example on the road

E6 displays a registration number below it. The place is reserved for that vehicle. Another valid disabled permit alone does not authorise parking there. At a place without a personal reservation, the relevant permit and transport conditions still apply.

Other conditions to check

A blue line is not necessary at an E6 place with a stated maximum stay for the specified parking-disc rules to apply. Establish the arrangement from the sign, panel and Article 26. Do not assume a general exemption from all parking conditions.

How to recognise the sign

Read the image, arrows and any text on sign E6; they distinguish this version within the parking and stopping category.

Difference from E4 — Parking

E4 identifies general parking. E6 reserves a place subject to additional statutory eligibility conditions; the wheelchair symbol is not merely a suggestion.

Frequently asked questions

Is a valid permit always sufficient?
No. The transport purpose, any registration reservation and other applicable conditions also matter.
Can a parking disc be required without a blue line?
Yes. For a stated maximum stay, Article 26 can apply the specified disc rules without a blue line.
