Category

Traffic signs
Closed to buses.

Closed to buses. The closure applies to buses; the bus symbol does not close the road to all motor vehicles.

How to recognise the sign

A circular red-bordered sign; read its symbol, text or number for the precise restriction.

Supplementary panel and application

Read a supplementary panel as part of the closure. “Uitgezonderd” (except) with a symbol indicates an exemption; a symbol alone can instead limit application to that group.

Difference from C7b — No buses or lorries

C7a: Closed to buses. C7b: Closed to buses and trucks. Read the separate application of C7b too; similar appearance does not mean identical meaning.

No buses belongs to the Prohibition category. In the CBR theory exam a traffic sign is almost never asked on its own: you are shown a situation and have to know what you may or must do in it. In the free sign trainer you practise the signs by category, with the explanation shown right after every answer.
