Car tests

Look at the figures for the kind of car you want to drive. Of 415 first car tests, 389 were manual (93.7%) and 26 automatic (6.3%). Manual tests had 236 passes (60.7%), and automatic tests had 8 (30.8%). One different result changes the manual pass rate by 0.3 percentage points and the automatic rate by 3.8 percentage points. Read rates based on few tests with more care. Ask the school which lessons are available now; these past tests do not tell you that.

Comparing the same test centres

We also compare other schools at the same 2 test centres. Centres where this school had more tests count more. This gives the other schools a combined pass rate of 50.8%. The school’s rate of 58.8% is 8 percentage points above this rate. We use 415 of the school’s 415 first tests and 7,019 tests from the other schools. We leave out the school’s own CBR code and known related codes when calculating the other schools’ rate. We compare the same type of test over the same dates. A difference does not prove better or worse teaching.
