How do we compare?

We compare the same vehicle category and reporting period at the same CBR exam centre. Only first exams at this centre count, not the school total. The school's busiest centre is selected initially. The comparison score weights CBR results at 70% and the whole-school Google rating at 30%. For CBR we use the 95% Wilson lower bound, which accounts for exam volume. About the school

In 1962 mocht Dhr. A. Meerkerk door een onverwachte ziekmelding zijn eerste rijles geven, hetgeen zo goed beviel dat hiermee de basis werd gelegd van Meerkerk’s Autorijschool in Breukelen. Al snel groeide de rijschool uit tot ca. 10 personenauto’s en volgde begin jaren ‘80 de eerste Ford truck (10t). Door wijzigingen in het rijbewijs werd de lichte truck vervangen door een zwaardere truck van 16 ton. In de regio kwam de vraag of er met de lesvrachtwagen ook hulpgoederen naar Polen gebracht konden worden. Uiteraard klonk deze internationale rit als muziek in de oren en was hiermee het eerste transport een feit. Meerkerk’s Autorijschool groeide verder uit met een aparte BV onder de naam Meerkerk Transport. Met zoon Ad op de vrachtwagen reed men door heel Europa. Helaas kwam er na het ‘Akkoord van Schengen’ een einde aan het transportgedeelte. Door de opengestelde grenzen kwam er steeds meer concurrentie in het goederentransport waarbij men voor ‘een appel en een ei’ reed. Reden te meer om de aandacht te focussen op de autorijschool. Naast de komst van de lesvrachtwagen volgde midden jaren ‘80 de eerste lesbus, zodat bij Meerkerk’s Autorijschool alle type rijbewijzen kon worden gehaald. Ook hierbij kwam de vraag uit de regio of er niet eens een schoolreis met de lesbus gereden kon worden. Door deze geregeld terugkerende vraag werd de verouderde lesbus vervangen door een luxe touringcar. Beetje bij beetje groeide de busreizen verder uit en waren de touringcars door heel Europa te vinden. Eind jaren ‘80 werd het écht een familiebedrijf. Naast zoon Ad kwamen er twee van de drie dochters bij vader Adriaan Meerkerk in dienst. Bettina ondersteunde haar moeder op kantoor en Jeannette gaf in ‘89 haar eerste rijles. Inmiddels zijn de werkzaamheden door Jeannette (samen met haar man Dirk) in 2011 overgenomen onder de naam Autorijschool Meerkerk en Meerkerk Busreizen. Ook is Bettina Meerkerk nog steeds fulltime op kantoor werkzaam. Autorijschool Meerkerk is inmiddels uitgegroeid tot een begrip in de regio voor het behalen van het auto-, bus- en vrachtwagenrijbewijs.
